Calorstat was founded in 1927 in France, initially manufacturing thermostats and supplying them to automobile manufacturers. Calorstat acquired Vernet, which was the pioneer of the "wax" thermostatic element and a leader in the thermal regulation market and started manufacturing under the brand of Vernet. In 1991, Calorstat was re-launched and is the aftermarket business unit of Vernet and unifies all the ranges of spare parts manufactured by the company.
Vernet was recognized as the best thermostat producer in the world and its thermostats are currenty being used as OE in the assembly lines by all European and American automakers (such as Peugeot , Volvo , and Renault).
