Founded in 1920, Mahle GmbH is based in Stuttgart, Germany and is one of the world's largest automotive parts manufacturer for automakers and the aftermarket. The Mahle brothers initially produced light-alloy pistons and air & oil filters and then diversified its range of products by manufacturing components of piston systems, cylinder components, valve train systems, air and liquid management systems, and various filters. Today, half of all automobile (passenger cars and commercial vehicles) and engine manufacturers contain Mahle components.
With 80,000 employees working in 160 production plants and 16 research and development centers, Mahle has demonstrated its innovation by presenting a cooling concept for pistons in high-speed passenger car diesel engines and by manufacturing the first all-plastic oil filter in the world in 2003. In 2018, Mahle generated sales of over 12 billion Euros.
